முக்கனி - பெயர்க்காரணம்

முக்கனி

·        மா, பலா வாழை ஆகிய மூன்றும் முக்கனி ஆகும்.  

·        முக்கனிகள் மிகவும் சுவை உள்ளவை

·        தமிழ்நாட்டில் இம்மூன்று பழங்களும் அதிகம் விளைகின்றன

·        இவை மருத்துவக் குணம் நிறைந்தவை

·        உடல் வளர்ச்சிக்குத் தேவையான ஊட்டச்சத்துகள் இம்மூன்று கனிகளிலும் இருக்கின்றன

·        முக்கனிகளைக் குழந்தைகள் மூதல் முதியவர் வரை அனைவரும் விரும்பிச் சாப்பிடுவர்.

·        மக்கள் முக்கனிகளைச் சில நேரங்களில் உணவுக்குப் பதில் உண்பர்

·        இக்கனிகளிலிருந்து `முப்பழம்` என்ற சுவையுடைய  பழக் கலவையைத் தயாரிப்பார்கள்

·        தமிழர்கள் பெரும்பாலும் முப்பழத்தை விழாக்காலங்களில் தயாரிப்பார்கள்

·        இம்மூன்று கனிகளின் மரங்களும் மக்களுக்கு மிகவும் பயன்படுகின்றன

·        இம்மூன்று மரங்களிலும் மருத்துவப் பயன்கள் உள்ளன என்று கூறுவர்

·        பண்டையத் தமிழ்நாட்டை ஒன்றிணைக்கும் பழங்களாக இவை விளங்குகின்றன

·        சேரநாட்டில் பலாக்கனிகளும், சோழநாட்டில் வாழைப்பழங்களும், பாண்டியநாட்டில் மாங்கனிகளும் அதிகம் விளைகின்றன

·        முக்கனிகள் தமிழரின் ஒற்றுமைப் பண்பாட்டைப் பிரதிபலிக்கின்றன

·        இன்றும்கூடத் தமிழ் நாட்டில் மூன்று மரங்களையும் வீட்டைச் சுற்றி வளர்ப்பர்

·        `ஒன்றுபட்டால் உயர்வைப் பெறலாம்` என்ற உயரிய தத்துவத்தை விளக்குவதற்கு நம்முன்னோர் `முக்கனி` என்ற பொருள் நிறைந்த சொல்லை மக்களிடம் அறிமுகப்படுத்தினர்.

·        மா, பலா, வாழை வரிசை அமைப்பு முறை

·        மாமரம் அதிகக் கிளைகளையும் காய் கனிகளையும் உடையது. இதன் கிளைகளும் காய்களும் நெருக்கம் நிறைந்தவை. அதுபோல் குடும்பத்தில் உள்ளவர்களும் பிணைப்பு மிக்கவர்களாகவும் பயன் உள்ளவர்களாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டும். இதனால், மாமரத்தை நம் முன்னோர் வரிசையில் முதல் இடத்தில் வைத்தனர்.

·        பலா மரம் குறைந்த கிளைகளையும் ஒருசில பழங்களையும் உடைய மரம். பலா பழத்தை அரிய முயற்சிக்குப் பின்புதான் சுவைக்க முடியும். அதுபோல, நம்முடைய இலட்சியத்தை அடைவதற்குக் கடுமையாக முயற்சி செய்யவேண்டும். இறுதியில் நாம் இலட்சியத்தின் மூலம் இனிய  இன்பத்தை அடையலாம்.  அதனால், நம் முன்னோர்  பலாவை வரிசையில் இரண்டாம் இடத்தில் வைத்தனர்.

·        வாழை மரத்தில் கிளைகள் இல்லை. இது ஒரு குலையில் இனிய சுவையுடைய பல பழங்களைத் தரும்.  அதன் இனம் `வாழையடி வாழையாகத்` தொடர்ந்து வாழும். அதுபோல, மனித இனமும் இலட்சியத்துடன் தொடர்ந்து வாழவேண்டும் என்பதைக் குறிப்பதற்கு வாழை மரத்தை வரிசையில் மூன்றாவது இடத்தில் வைத்தனர்.

Mukkani

·       Mango, jackfruit and banana are known as the mukani (triple fruits)

·       They are very tasty fruits

·       They are harvested heavily in Tamil Nadu

·       They contain important medicinal values

·       They are rich in nutrition needed for growth

·        They are eagerly eaten by people of all age groups

·       They often serve as replacements to the main meals and as such, they reduce famine in Tamil Nadu

·       A tasty fruit punch known as “Muppazham” is made from them

·       Muppazham is widely prepared during festive seasons

·       The trees bearing these fruits are also very beneficial to the public

·       It is known that these trees contain several medicinal values

·       They serves as an integrating factor that united the ancient Tamil Nadu (Chera, Chola and Pandiya empires)

·       Chera, Chola and Pandiya empires produce jackfruit, banana and mango, respectively, in surplus

·       These fruits reflect the Tamil’s integration and unity

·       They are often seen around houses in Tamil Nadu even today

·       Our forefathers have coined the meaningful  term, ‘Mukkani’ to explain the important concepts of integration and unity

·       The order of mango, jackfruit and banana is important too

·       Mango trees have many branches and fruits. These branches are clustered together. This reflects the unity between family members. Therefore, this is placed in the first place.

·       Jackfruit trees have comparatively less branches and fruits. Also, one needs a lot patience and hard work before enjoying the jackfruit. This reflects the patience and hard work people need in order to achieve their goals in life. Therefore, this is placed in the second place.

·       Banana tree lacks any branches and bears fruits as one whole “kulai”. They live for many generations by propagating endlessly, in an attempt to continuously provide the mankind with the benefits of its fruits. This points towards to the fact that people should continuously strive for their goals with perseverance. Therefore, this is placed in the third place.
